After spending all day planting, trimming, hauling limbs and tools around, I think we need more Mexican immigrants. Did you notice that China has been re-cycling its Dollar collection into copper and gold. One is to corner the world market on batteries and the other is to ally with Putin and announce a new Gold-Backed World exchange reserve currency. The Soros/Dems are doing our part to inflate the dollar, and crash the USA industry base that's left with a Massive energy tax that must be paid to the Algore Revenue Service. By 2012 the President of the USA wont be a job worth having anymore.

An open thread is the closest to Twitter you can get on a blog.

Zach, I think they mean that they're leaving California.

I'm sick today and missing fun outings. I always feel strange having a fever--that seems like something for children. Lileks posted on Twitter not long ago that he had an ear infection and remarked something like, "What am I? Four?"

Long time friends are coming over for dinner tonight. It'll be the kind of dinner you can have with people you've known for decades.

One party calls the other, all parties are available on short notice; you pick up a pizza on your way over and we'll provide beer, salad and dessert.

It's the kind of dinner where friends are more important than menu.

How is your Southern Ohio first round draft choice doing in contract negotiations? The regular season approaches when your preseason games will be behind you.

Comic Sans walks into a hair salon in Geordieland, not Newcastle proper mind you, Comic is banned from Newcastle, but either in Whickham or Hexham, I forget now which, but they're both slightly more funny.

"What can ah dee f'yee, Pet? Asks the hairdresser.

"I'll have a perm, please," says Comic sans.

"Whey aye," says the hairdresser, charming as always, "Ah wandered lernley as a cloud wot flets en 'eye 'er vayles 'n 'ills ...

Just translate it to French and back.

It works with any dialect punch line.

I wanted to go sculling for the first time this season Saturday, but was busy about the house all day and when the time came, I craved a nap.

Bad sign for the season? Last year I felt too tired all the time, was good to go once a week. Formerly it was daily.

What's the point of beating cancer if you have zero energy left to actually enjoy your life?

Maybe rationed socialist health care really is the answer. Maybe they should have just put me to sleep.

Kentuckyliz... You are needed for a lot of life ahead. Your point of view has a maturity from your suffering that cannot be obtained any other way. Never, never, never give in. Who said that? The singer King David wrote the lyrics to Psalm 118:18 for our encouragement in dark days of this life. In fact the whole Psalm seems relevant these days.

We love you, kentuckyliz. Don't give up.
