Shalom. I promise not to push back on Cedarford's disinformation eruptions for at least one week.

Nice out where you are. My wife and I will be driving to Sharon PA tomorrow and, hopefully, there will be sun and more than enough leaves on the trees.

Near the Lakeshore dorms? That's always a beautiful view; tranquil and serene.

Remembering the professor's comments, I finally saw Capitalism, a Love Story.

First of all, Marcy Kaptur shines as the star.

But I was specifically looking for the religious aspects. Moore respects specifically the social justice side of the Catholicism he grew up with, and mocks the Capitalist Christianity we see exhibited by, for example, some of the commenters here. I didn't notice any specific anti-Semitism, although Moore does spotlight Time's cover of the "Committee to Save the World": Alan Greenspan, Robert Rubin, and Larry Summers, all three of whom happen to be Jewish. (The only one I noticed of the leaders of Goldman Sachs -- an equal opportunity employer by all accounts -- briefly flashed on screen was Indian. Or Persian.)

An ESPN commentator, after tonights Monday Night game, used the word 'concatenation' to mean "a string of events leading to a catastrophic failure". (his words)

I looked up Wikipedia (disambiguation) and I dont see it.

The Catholic Church has been hostile to capitalism and friendly to strong, authoritarian government since the days of the Roman Empire

"Capitalist Christianity" is just another way of saying "Protestantism".

Nice view. My husband's office is a half a block up, on the right.

Well framed and well timed.

Lem, I'd have had to hear the usage, but if he said something like "a concatenation of events that lead to catastrophe" then it would be perfectly fine.

rhhardin, "Bike Commute: maples vs. pines": beautiful & interesting photograph, looks like the road falls away into nothing, or a gray fog. Or maybe it's my eyes.

"Fauna" - well that one will cause me nightmares.

The Latin root is catena or chain. Concatenation=chaining together.
