"Bill Clinton's glamorous fundraiser called 'worst party ever' by angry guests."

The U.K. Telegraph reports:
Attendees complained the underground venue “stank”, with perspiration “dripping off the walls” and the rooms too crowded to even see the former president.

One, who called it the “worst party ever” described how “angry people” were waiting in the queue outside while high-profile guests were admitted, and another condemned the event as “unpleasant."

So, stop payment on your check. That will get any politician's immediate attention. Bitching to the press won't.

But give them more power so they can be the arbiters of what's "fair".

Also attending, Will.I.Am

Will.I.Am attends climate change talk in helicopter

Musician Will.I.Am has been criticised for arriving at a climate change debate in a private helicopter, producing the same amount of CO2 most people do in a month.

Saw this earlier.

Looks like people are finally seeing through Willie (took them long enough). He'll be crushed; people don't want him feeling their pain anymore.

Like Zero, a true sociopath, although I don't believe Barry is one tenth as delusional as William Jefferson Blyth III.

I was under the impression that was how all of these big time deals went. VIP's get in. The peasants, if they're lucky, get a glimpse of them.

Seriously, did these folks expect to jawbone with the Pres?

I'm nursing my ambition to be appointed Poet Laureate of Althouse's Genuine and Unique Endeavor, thence enabling me to subjoin the acronym PLAGUE to my name.
To get there I presumably have to move on, from lashing the Left to writing wretchedly of lachrymose lilies and willowy women, of maxed out hearts and credit cards, of roads not taken and martinis not shaken.
But tonight there's taunting:

Everything is swell
Money has no smell
Off with gloves and hats
Bring out unions with bats
Private property is theft
So says the Left
Private equity is rape
Beat banksters into shape
What's all the fuss
Donate exclusively to us
Money, money, money makes the Left go wild!

Hilarious. This is exactly why global warming/climate change doesn't catch on in the US. It's promoted by fucking retards who don't see their own behavior as relevant.

Granted, this idiot was only a racial token to add color to an all-white conference, but the message received in flyover country is crystal clear. GW/CC is a scam, regardless of whether it actually exists or not.

How does this zit on the world stage, not even considering his sexual desecration of the office he once held, garner any publicity, at all.

His degenerate nature has inspired a generation. Bullshit over substance, blow jobs over duty.

Why would anyone expect a value added experience when he is the giver, like if, is a mystery.

I'd seen the Daily Mail's piece, which had a stock photo, but, yeah, he looks awful there.

Whatever it is, I think Hillary won't have to dump him. If he lives to see 2013, it will be a miracle.

A rathskeller(spelling?) sounds like the perfect place for a fundraiser for a politician.

And being married to the Hildabeast, what would expect the poor guy to look like. After all his indiscretions he has to go "down on the ship" while she's "visiting her Aunt Flo" if you know what I mean.**wink wink nudge nudge** "Say no more. Say no more"

And say what you will about him being more a sociopath than the other, but you got to admit, Bill's got 1000 times the charisma of zero.

Well kiddies if this report is accurate the culprit would be the event planner. That's the person who's paid to put these things together. It's not some politicians character flaw. It's just bad event management.

Bill Clinton's too busy trying to cover up how he had Vince Foster killed while having drugs smuggled into Arkansas to give to Monica Lewinski so she'd burn that blue dress.

You conservatives bagging on Clinton sound for all the world like nutty leftists still moaning about Reagan. The man, Clinton, brought us NAFTA and much other free trade. He brought us welfare reform. He brought us federal budgets that were fiscally sound. And he was very popular.

Get over yourselves. Clinton is definitely in the pantheon of pretty good presidents.

Seven Machos said...

By the way -- is this Dave that douchebag DaveTM? Or is this a different douchebag Dave?

Scott M said...

He brought us welfare reform.

Kicking and screaming. And then only begrudgingly admitted later that there had been some successes because of it.

His personal foibles are so ludicrous that the beg being mocked and mock I shall. Should a Republican, or anyone else, attain high office, I will likewise mock.

Carnifex said...

@7M

Well, he was popular, I'll give you that. Especially with slightly heavy, not so bright women who should have stayed in their trailer park.

As for the rest of your litany, you might want to check to see who was in charge of the congress. Particularly after the first half of his first term.

NAFTA...NAFTA...mmmm, how did that work for the oil pipeline again? Or unsafe mexican trucks on our highways? Not really proud of NAFTA.

Seven Machos said...

Scott -- Clinton campaigned on welfare reform. He wasn't dragged kicking and screaming. It was his ace in the hole, and he waited to play it until he knew it would get him reelected.

Another great thing about Clinton: he knew a loser when he saw it. Gays in the military: stupid decision, at the time, and he worked with the military to fashion a compromise. Universal healthcare: dead in the water, and he backed off.

Why do you think Ed Klein's book just happens to be called The Amateur?

We should all mock our leaders, if only to rub it in that stupid grade school teacher's face from the other day. But the Clinton hate by other people is just misplaced. He was about as good as it gets, for either side, for someone from the other side.

Seven Machos said...

Not really proud of NAFTA.

Then you don't understand economics at all and I feel sad and sorry for you. Trade produces wealth. Nothing else. You think about that. Maybe the light will go on for you. I doubt it, but maybe.

As far as the Congress, I agree with you that it is an unmitigated disaster whenever one party controls the Congress and the presidency. There's an analogy here with political stagnation of one-party rule and economic stagnation with the government outlawing the free transfer of goods, but I'm too tired to write it, and I doubt I can help you, anyway.

What is a millenium network anyway?

Beldar said...

@ Seven Machos: It's not original to me, but I try to explain that concept by pointing out that in every free-market transaction, by definition both parties get something that is more valuable to them than what they gave up. Magic!

As for Clinton's presidency, it looks substantially better now by comparison to the Democrat presidents on either side of him, doesn't it? But I believe that is what's known as setting a very low bar.

Ralph L said...

Clinton campaigned on welfare reform
What passed and he signed wasn't at all what he campaigned on--he wanted to spend more money, create more programs. Now they're using SSI to fleece the taxpayer, since AFDC is so limited.

Kowtowing to China was probably Clinton's biggest economic error, but most Repubs did the same. Lower trade barriers are a good thing, but it has been too one sided. They still have huge tariffs on imported autos, for example. High tech went to them that shouldn't have, too. Getting China to buy our debt hasn't been a good thing, it's just delayed the reckoning 'til we're deeper in the hole.

Clinton, like Reagan, was damned lucky, which covers a multitude of sins.

Clinton is OK. He's probably the best politician [not necessarily policy person, but raw, unmitigated politicking] I have ever seen. He's good at the game, because, I think, he cares more about what people will think about him *forever* rather than what they'll think about him *tomorrow*.

Machos, gang:

Bill Clinton was fucking PERICLES compared to the two guys who came after him.

Anyone who follows the template laid down by Eisenhower and Reagan; prosperity at home and non-intervention abroad, usually ends up with a successful President.

These last two guys have been complete fuckups.

"Anyone who follows the template laid down by Eisenhower and Reagan; prosperity at home and non-intervention abroad, usually ends up with a successful President."

-- Kosovo/Bosnia. Bombing Iraq. These are non-interventionist positions. Clinton, still good, but I'd not say that he promoted non-intervention. I'm also still not sure how much you can credit a president with the economy going up; it's easy to knock it down, but the internet being invented and going main stream will improve the economy of the most ruthless dictator's country, just not as much as in a free state.

Rusty said...

However the Bill Clinton's reputation will forever be stalked by Monica Lewinski.

That's so naive as to be sweet. The even went off precisely as planned, by an event planner who knew what was expected by those throwing the party. When lefty elites are involved, the rabble must be kept away.

7 Machos,
Can you explain what Clinton actually did to bring about the good economy? (which was actually not as good as Bush's "horrible" economy from 2003-2006, but that's another issue)

Just being President at the right time doesn't count.

How do you explain, then, that Bush's economy from 2003 to 2006 (when Democrats took over Congress and screwed up the economy) was better than Bill Clinton's best?

You really gotta break away from the talking points and look at reality.
