... things are just perfect.

No, they would be perfect if someone would throw the damned ball.

My son got a rescue Dog Named Daisy.

She was tied to a chain till she could have 2 litters of pups then sent to a Kill Pound in Eastern Kentucky. Rescued by Lexington foster parents.

8 out of 10 people can guess her breed from the name 'Daisy'.

Just outside the zone of perfection, Bret Bielema has agreed to leave the Badgers for Arkansas (read "money") and Bart Starr has collapsed while giving a speech in Madison.

Bart is ok, by the way, and left for home with his wife. His first and only wife.

Wasn't Clint Eastwood's yellow lab named Daisy in Gran Torino?

Glad Bart Starr is ok. 3 Big Ten titles notwithstanding, I don't think Bielema is that much of a loss. Hope they get a good replacement though, but I have no idea who that would be. It's a quality program though, there should be lots of interest from great coaches.

Also beyond the zone of perfection, from Tahoo News:

The homeless man who was given a pair of boots by a kindhearted New York City police officer apparently isn't homeless. According to the New York Daily News, Jeffrey Hillman, 54, has an apartment in the Bronx that is paid for via a combination of rent vouchers, Social Security, and military veteran benefits.
Hillman and Officer Lawrence DePrimo became Internet sensations after a visiting tourist posted a photo of DePrimo giving Hillman a pair of boots from a nearby Sketchers store. The photo went viral. Yesterday, we ran a story about how Hillman was spotted around New York City, again barefoot.
Those shoes are hidden," Hillman told the New York Times. "They are worth a lot of money—I could lose my life."

Hidden = Sold

It would be perfecter if Uncle Meade took me home to Aunt Ann where I could curl up on the floor and be warm.

The A/V tech who was working the room when Bart Starr collapsed also happens to be a paramedic. The former Packer would probably have been ok anyways, but talk about good timing...(if there is such a thing as a "good time" to pass out)

The dog is wondering "How many times do I have to show that guy how to swim before he, you know, tries it? Dang, these humans are hard to train!"

Hidden = Sold

Sold = for booze money. Drugs and alcohol addictions correlate very highly with homelessness. Writing checks doesn't solve this particular problem. It's terribly sad.

Let me just say that the rotation off your site of the pus-covered shank of beef ad is most welcome. I know you don't control what goes on in that corner of your page, but it absolutely impacts when and how often I check in. And vanilla pudding sales at my local grocery.

Patrick said...

Wonder if they'll try to get Chryst back. Seems like bad timing, buy you never know. I hope they don't fall into what the U of MN has had for the last 15 years or so. Lots of bad coaches, with one pretty good one who got fired after blowing a huge lead at an insignificant bowl.

The only canine "Daisy" I ever met was a beagle. But my gut's saying "golden retriever" here.

Today's tennis ball.

She wants a grab attempt, not a throw.

Arkansas should buy Bielema a watch for Christmas.

My first thought when the cop gave the man new shoes was, they will be sold before morning. I am old and cynical. But I was fresh-faced and naive to the ways of the world at 25. I thought the power of my love and charity would change things.

Ah well, cop...your merit in heaven doesn't depend on the bad actions of those you help. You are blessed.

Daisy = Old English sheepdog but I can't imagine someone doing that to an Old English sheepdog because they're so bouncy and carefree and protective of children and sheep, and can barely see through their overgrown locks covering their eyes. I'm imagining. Unless that eyebrow hair is like sunglasses or something. Something about lo que será, será. Which means in some foreign language, 'whatever will be, the big hairy dog did it.'

His record looks pretty good. That is, until you take a closer look at who he was racking up wins against and who he was losing to. He couldn't compete against ranked teams. I give him three years before they run him out of there on a rail.

People here are good at that.

(Ask Houston Nutt. Some people still talk about how much they hate him.)

Barry Albarez built Wisconsin's football program from scratch and Bielema did a competent job managing it, but Wisconsin won't get a big time coach with Alvarez still hanging around as Athletic Director.

Also, with Urban Meyer now at Ohio State, the Badgers won't be winning many Big Ten championships anymore. Bielema is in for a big payday and Arkansas will continue to be the Michigan State of the SEC.

I would nominate Lane Kiffin. He might even be available soon.

Arkansas should join the Big 12.

Perhaps he has a cousin he is especially fond of.

Have you used that word, for real. Slopped the hogs. Been chased by a mad sow. Eaten ham served up by someone you knew, in a child's way of knowing, that what you loved is now what you're eating.

Makes a difference in life, I've found.

I didn't know they hated Houston Nutt so much in Fayetteville--he won a lot didn't he? Or was it because he left them in the lurch for hated Ole Miss (I remember when Ark played Ole Miss in the late 50s/early 60s a famous pic of an Ole Miss Reb turning around as he was crossing the goal line from a long TD run to score and thumbing his nose at the trailing Ark players..)

Perfect, in some regards.

Nice off-season so far for the reigning MLB champion S.F. Giants.

Re-signed Affeldt.

Re-signed Pagan.

And, moments ago, announced they re-signed Marco Scutaro.

Poised to do very well, once more.
