"Sheriff’s investigators are expected to offer evidence to prosecutors that could lead a manslaughter charge against Caitlyn Jenner..."

"... for her role in a fatal car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, Calif., in February."
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman, Nicole Nishida, said Thursday that investigators had found that Ms. Jenner was driving in a manner “unsafe for the prevailing road conditions” when her sport utility vehicle rear-ended a Lexus, pushing it into oncoming traffic....

The crash occurred months before Ms. Jenner’s gender transition.... In early June, Ms. Jenner revealed her new identity on the cover of Vanity Fair and became a sensation on social media when the magazine posted the article online.

Jenner is really working to make his TV show a success, eh?

It's not her fault, she was just transitioning to being a woman. You know, a shitty driver.

How dare those intolerant bigots charge a brave courageous hero (ESPN told me so) just for killing someone?

Will they send him to a women's prison even though he still has his penis?

Obviously a freak accident.

It wasn't Caitlyn, it was Bruce, and he's gone.

The cynic in me says he/she "went public" to become a "protected minority" after that crash.

That ESPN award ought to help shield him/her.

Homosexuals and transgenders make up a larger proportion of murderers and murder victims than the general population.
Jenner won this year's ESPY Arthur Ashe Courage Award over a decorated veteran who lost two legs in combat, Gregory Gadson.

Never mind his junk, he still has his Y chromosome. He can claim to be something he's not - like a brain surgeon or a stock broker - that's just garden-variety fraud. Jenner can sincerely believe he's something he is not - like Grand Duchess Anastasia - that's just garden-variety insanity. There is no third position. End of story.

Transgenderism is also a fraud, and will remain so until it stops being the subject of leftish dilettante table talk, and becomes a matter of genetic engineering.

A passing thought: If brought to trial will Jenner plead diminished responsibility? Given his recent history I'd say he has a case.

How would you like your loved one or friend to have been killed by someone who is virtually un-criticizable in the news these days? Eeesh. That would be hard.

He did something wrong, but I'm sure has great remorse. She still has to pay the price of his mistake. Imagine it was someone other than Bruce/Caitlyn. The determination is ordinary vs. gross negligence. I would guess ordinary negligence, misdemeanor with a max of one year county jail. I repeat max. It would have to be gross negligence to be a felony and even if it is gross negligence, it could still be a misdemeanor.

The family of the deceased would just as soon see gross negligence, plea bargained to misdemeanor with no jail time. That way Caitlyn can keep making the big bucks to help with the civil suit.

Women drivers. *eyes roll*

It puts the man in manslaughter.

We're dealing with manslaughter in the subjunctive here.

The writer of the article has a hard time with pronouns. Is it proper to refer to Jenner as "she" when describing him before he came out as transgender?

campy said...

Outrageous! Everyone knows it's a woman's right to do whatever she wants with her own body. If she wants to use her body to pilot her Lexus into a fatal collision, it's no one else's business.

Stinkin' transphobes.

Wonder if ESPN will revoke her hero award.

Who is the defendant? Bruce Jenner or Caitlin Jenner?

One of the local news agencies has the headline Manslaughter charge urged for Caitlin Jenner.

I'm pretty sure that's a punchline to a really good joke. I just don't know the joke.

Bruce Jenner killed the woman. The person known as "Bruce Jenner" no longer exists. In fact, since orientation is set at birth, there never was a Bruce Jenner. There has only ever been Caitlyn Jenner. If OJ had been able to figure this out he would be a free woman today.

He may be able to plead confusion and a jury of his peers would acquit him.

This business of people like Jenner who make unsupportable claims about themselves and get credulous respect from media elites in reply (thus explaining the Arthur Ashe award) instead of incredulous derision reminds me of an often overlooked Woody Allen film called The Purple Rose of Cairo, which is a fantasy about a movie character falling in love with a woman in the audience. The character (played by Jeff Daniels, who also plays the actor who plays the character) literally steps out of the screen, thereby gaining a third dimension, and elopes with the woman (Mia Farrow), leaving the other characters in the scene unable to finish the movie.

The actor who plays the character is dispatched by the Studio to get his character back into the movie. The actor carefully explains the difference between reality and fiction to the character, who finally agrees there's a fundamental difference between himself and his beloved. But that doesn't matter, says the character wearing a pith helmet, I can learn to be real! No you can't, replies the actor, that's like learning to be a midget. The world does work that way.

How about...

I read today that Caitlin Jenner has been charged with manslaughter.

Really? What happened?

It seems he performed his own castration.

Yeah, pretty weak. The whole episode is too pathetic to be funny.

Good comments today.

eatbees said...

Why isn't anyone commenting on the questionable morality of the whole gender-transition reality-show publicity rollout when they knew this had happened and responsibility for it was already hanging over his/her head?

I guess they figured the dead person didn't matter, they were just going to make money from it anyway. Or worse, that they'd better speed things up because after the charges were made public, it would be too late to cash in on a tainted image.

I totally agree with what Maybee said at 4:38. The woman killed was not a real person but rather an unfortunate distraction. I'm surprised that this is even being pursued rather than permanently swept under the rug. Even so, if it had not been celebrity kills commoner, can anyone imagine this going on for months before even hinting that charges may be filed? I assume that Jenner's lawyers and others were simply being given time to see what it would take to make this go away, and that the victim's heirs finally said no dice.

Equal application of justice for all! Yeah right.

Big Mike said...

So does he serve his sentence in a women's prison or does she serve her sentence in a prison for men?

NO, I bet they will have to build an LBGT prison

If it had been any one of us driving that Escalade we'd have been charged within hours of the crash, certainly within days. There'd be no internal debate at the DA's office.

"Who is the defendant? Bruce Jenner or Caitlin Jenner?"

Wouldn't his driver's license dictate who the defendant is?

USA Today February 9, 2015

Former Olympian Bruce Jenner was in one of the cars involved in a four-car crash that killed one woman in Malibu, Calif., Saturday afternoon, Los Angeles Police say. Seven other people sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The next question is whose license accrues the points? Maybe Bruce will take the points to keep Caitlyn’s record clean.

Now I get it. He's pulling a Bradley Manning. He wants to serve his sentence in female prison rather than male. So he got out in front of the felony charges with his "transformation" before he was indicted.

I was wondering why he wasn't getting his penis cut up or taking copious amounts of estrogen. Now I get it.
