Sister Souljah had a Hillary moment.

She's talking about a number of things to Time, but when she's asked what she thinks about Hillary Clinton, she "pauses" and "then pulls out an unsealed envelope":
“I want to control what I say so that I can be quoted properly. I have this past history of being misquoted or misunderstood.” She slides an index card across the table. It reads, “She reminds me too much of the slave plantation white wife of the white ‘Master.’ She talks down to people, is condescending and pandering. She even talked down to the Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, while she was under his command!”
Souljah also offers her own definition of the term that bears her name:
“People say, ‘What is a Sister Souljah moment?’ And I say, ‘That’s when you meet a beautiful, powerful woman—and you just can’t forget her.’”

"No Disrespect."

Did anyone expect Sister Souljah, of all people, to have a nice word for the Clintons? I mean, really?

She's more washed up than Hillary.

Apparently, you can't be a boorish white female either.

No, for some it's symbolic of the antebellum slave plantation and racism and the oppression of this or that group.

Crazy times, crazy times.

What powerful, old, white woman would not remind Ms. Souljah of the white wife of the white 'Master'?

She seems nice.

When does the part with free love and Woodstock start?

I think if fits, Hillary was the mistress of the plantation house and the master was out sinking pipe in the help.

Of course if Hillary played a part in Gone With The Wind it would be as a grifter, er I mean carpetbagger.

" She talks down to people, is condescending and pandering."

The "I ain't no ways tarred" comment from Hilary was a bit much.

No doubt the Hildabeast needs to work on her pandering (see "no ways tarred"). I mean, she'll get the black vote. They know where the free shit comes from. But will she get the black turnout?

Revenge is a dish best served cold. Well played Sistah.

That may leave a mark.

Not that Sister Souljah is an opinion leader, but the Hillary camp has to be worried about black voter turnout.

Not opposition, but lack of excitement and thus turnout.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary doesn't excite the black Democrat base except for the public employee types.

Hence, look forward to more media focus on incidents of racial division on campus and elsewhere to GOTV.

Alas, Hillary probably isn't smooth enough to channel those contrivances into net additional votes for herself.

Right on, Sistah! Keep speaking truth to power (I think).

I find her fascinating and would be interested in subscribing to her newsletter!

The black women supremacists all sound like a female version of Robert Mugabe. That is the worse kind of tyranny to find yourself under, a stupid one. Other than that I agree that she is a talented black Supremacist. I bet she is a Spelman College graduate.

SS: “She reminds me too much of the slave plantation white wife of the white ‘Master.’

Except from Game Change: "The day after Iowa, he (Bill Clinton)phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee."

The joke is, only a few people would know she exists if it weren't for Bill Clinton. She has some in-genre following, but she hasn't seemed to attract much attention beyond that, save for the fact Clinton threw her under the bus.

By which she means she needs to be careful lest her words reveal her beliefs.

The analogy itself is true about the old Slavery South. The white Master of a plantation would spend his life gallivanting around seeking solace from sexual conquests of all types, while the Household was entirely run as a tight ship by a bitter white Mistress in charge.

How long do you suppose she's been toting that little envelope around with her?

I like the index card idea.

It's what Ferguson and the campus protest are all about, the Republicans aren't organising and funding these, Democrat operatives are.

"I mean, if black people kill black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people?
...
So if you're a gang member and you would normally be killing somebody, why not kill a white person? Do you think that somebody thinks that white people are better, are above and beyond dying, when they would kill their own kind?"

In future, Sister Souljah should just send out her 3X5 cards and forget the interviews. Saves time and prevents any misunderstandings.

"...and you just can't forget her." I thought I remembered her, but it was Queen Latifah I was thinking of. " Sister Souljah, no. Sister Toldjah, yes!

The Secretary of State is under the command of the Commander-in-Chief? A civilian government employee can be commanded by the civilian president? Will she be court-martialed if she disobeys an order from her commander?

Even when she carefully writes it down, she still mucks it up.

Present this card to police or immigration agents who question you.

My Rights Card
I am giving you this card because I do not wish to speak to
you or have any further contact with you. I choose to exercise
my right to remain silent and to refuse to answer your
questions. If you arrest me, I will continue to exercise my right
to remain silent and to refuse to answer your questions. I
want to speak with a lawyer before answering your questions.

If she were as good looking as Angela Davis or Joanne Chisimard, she would have gotten away with it. You need good looks to get away with murder. She didn't have the good looks privilege card. Life is unfair......,,I wonder what her take is on Winnie Mandela. Winnie took upon herself the big house privilege of beating subordinates to death.

mikee said...

William, are you asking about Sister or Hillary?

HoodlumDoodlum said...

She even talked down to the Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, while she was under his command

Under his command? Obvious patriarchal phrasing, but that "command" is a bit too close to implying male ownership of her female body, to use as he pleases. Sexist.

Counterpoint: Bill Ayers.

William said... Winnie took upon herself the big house privilege of beating subordinates to death.

Clarification: beating, shooting, and burning people alive.

She stopped watching all TV because she didn't like Basketball Wives? Talk about throwing the baby out with he bath water.

She must have a very long memory indeed. Or does she claim access to an ancestral racial memory?

Whatever it is, it can only help Hillary's candidacy.
