It's not the tweeting, it's the retweeting that gets you... if you're Trump.

Oh, no. Trump goofs up retweeting again. See the problem?

"Don Vito" apparently just googled to find a generic picture of a black family, but they are actual people who don't appreciate being appropriated and presented as real Trump supporters. Actually, they don't sound that bothered. Buzzfeed found the man, and he called it “misleading” and “taken out of context.”

Oh, this is a nothing controversy, but it got me to this other story that has me laughing ought loud: "Facebook Appears To Think This Picture Of A Horse Is Porn And Won’t Let Us Share It" — which is updated to say: "Facebook seems to be flagging this article — the one you’re reading right now — as pornography" and: "And then, after Facebook removes this article from your feed, it makes you go through your photos and verify that none of them are pornographic."

I happen to know several black families who are Trump supporters so it's not outside the realm of possibility. But to appropriate a 'generic' photo is probably not kosher.

Was that Don Vito Corleone ?

Don Vito has the judges and politicians in his pocket.

I had a picture of a Barbie doll in a bathtub and it was flagged as obscene.

Oh well, I don't do social media anymore. I'm too old...

Regarding the horse thing, some Seattle-area [Enumclaw] pervert died doing that back in 2006. I'm not suggesting the picture portrays that but it does bring it to mind. Don't try this at home!

Is there anything duller than guilt by association? Lefties do it all time. OMG, Trump re-tweeted something that [insert bad person] tweeted!!!

Thank God Hitler is dead. If he was tweeting, we'd be be told that anyone who re-tweeted him was "just like Hitler!!!"

It really makes followers happy when you retweet something from one of them. People who follow Trump won't care if he doesn't vet everything he retweets, people who don't like him will find something to complain about regardless.

Isn't it kind of odd that "Don Vito" is the same guy who tweeted the"ugly" picture of Heidi Cruz? Isn't "Don Vito" the kind of handle you would choose if you were Donald Trump and you wanted to have a deniable twitter account that you could send squirrly stuff from that you could retweet.

Trump does or says something, the media tries to make him feel bad about it, he ignores them. This same thing has been repeating in various forms for a year.

What are you talking about? Don Vito was Bam Margera's uncle - and life of Viva La Bam, until being unfortunately convicted of wrasling a fan's tittay at an autograph signing.

Get with the program, Professor. What century is this, again?

"My Twitter has become so powerful that I can actually make my enemies tell the truth."

No, that is not a line from a Saturday Night Live sketch. Nor is it from The Simpsons. It is a documented quote, never recanted, denied or denounced by Donald Trump, from his own Twitter feed.

And that, of course, is the one and only reason for me to vote for Trump. Because the insulting, gross, ignoramus, clueless Trump is less offensive than the Democrat. And that, particularly given federal judicial nominations, is probably true.

I just don't want to be blamed, for his likely loss in the fall. I don't want Republicans to be blamed for his nomination. I don't want him to hurt down-ballot Republicans. I don't want him to hurt the party in the longer term. I want a Trump firewall. A big, tall firewall. We'll build that wall. And we'll have a door in it. Because some of them -- some of the Trumpkins -- are, I am sure, good people. And we will welcome them back to the party when they have denounced and forsaken Trump.

I have no idea if he will win in a landslide or lose. The halfhearted attitude of many Republicans is not going to help. I don't expect enthusiasm but you have been so hostile to the concept that many of us are ready for a revolution (hopefully non-violent) that it gives weak sisters the excuse to stay home. If that happens and Hillary is elected, I anticipate violent revolution.

Frankly I doubt she will be the nominee but even that may lead to real violence.

Remember that the French royal family vacillated between hiring and firing Necker until that revolution was total and resulted in their deaths.

I consider Trump to be Danton. Robespierre is somewhere waiting in the wings.

Right now, I am reading The Collapse of Complex Societies, to prepare.

I try not to be alarmist but this is a very odd time.

and nicholas the 2nd, could have succeeded if stolypin had lived, it's a strange world,

what is edifying, is who are committed to turnout, the others can't be helped,

I got that insight first from Solzhenitsyn's August 1916, which tried to ascertain how the revolution came about, also reading montefiore's volume on the romanovs.

the parallel here, was with stolypin being shadowed, by an okrana connected member of the social revolutionaries, bogrov,

We are down to less than 1% of the population serving in the military at any one time. Of the entire military less than a quarter see actual combat. Maybe a half actually deploy and see something of foreign countries at all much less combat.

My point is the nation is entirely disconnected from the people that fight for it. I would say a majority of Americans have never even met a currently serving soldier. There are a large number of people, obviously young, who haven't spoken meaningfully with any veteran.

If they had they would see why electing Hillary at this point is a bad idea.

I'm pretty sure Trump is going to lose. I just don't see amyone beating Hillary. Even if Trump were to choose Romney, or Rubio or Cruz as his VP and then get shot and assassinated before the election, I still don't see anyone beating Hillary. There is just too much corruption. And I don't mean Democrat corruption. I think many of the swing state politicians who are Republican would gladly join together with Hillary to cheat their way to victory.

And I don't see this going on much longer. But, there is only one way I can think to prepare for the collapse. Start a security company. Get ammo, weapons, and ex military and start a company that provides security.

Otherwise, how do you survive the collapse? Because it'll come swift and it'll be violent.

eric said...

Oh, one other way that is distasteful. Work for the government. I think you'll be fortunate to be a government employee during the collapse.

FWIW, I'm of the opinion that the Don Vito sock puppet is one Trump personally controls. It shows up regularly as the source of these beneficial shit-storms. Don Vito certainly writes in Trump's voice, and the hypothesis is in keeping with past Trump behavior.

I find it amusing that anyone still thinks a presidential candidate does their own tweets. Or retweets. Or ever looks at Twitter.

These people have staffs to do that for them, and better things to do.

If you read or follow a candidate on social media, you are volunteering your time to peruse their campaign material, and that is all you are doing.
