Looking into the court.

Moot court at the Wisconsin Supreme Court

Just a picture I took a while back that I was inspired to pull out while writing this morning about what the Wisconsin Supreme Court might do if there were no anti-same-sex marriage amendment.

The chair says Come, sit down and read!

I'm sorry, but upon seeing that photo, an image of the old Chief Rheinquist popped into my mind of him sitting there with gravy stains on his gown, one shoe off, his mouth open, snoring. I could almost hear the snickering of Clerks in the adjoining room. There is no vigor, no fire and inspiration in this photo. There is mustiness and dust and the faint ghosts of old men gathered with sharp pins in preparation for probing the moles on the back of a wench in an effort to ferret out a witch.

Shake: That's not the courtroom. That's a conference room. I had the chance to take the picture when I was doing moot court judging.
