Any questions?

1067428958_7803091f09_o.jpg

Give me some subject matter and I just may vlog today... or even podcast...

ADDED: In the comments, Bissage notes a lamppost in my photo and suggests replacing it with this. Simon then produces this picture...

WOTWgarden.jpg

... and Palladian sends me the image with no lamppost, which I've swapped for my original.

Why don't Churches pay taxes?

Tell me more about the garden in this photo.

Did you have any dinner last night after eating all those sandwiches?

Why no red?

other than photography and your performance art vlogging, do you do any painting, sculpting, artsy things?

Are you excited about going to New York?

I'll repeat the question I just thought of:

If you like one or more protest songs: Which is the best, in your opinion?

If you don't like protest songs: Why not?

Here are a couple others:

Tom Wolfe called blogs a return to "tribal drum-beating," the idea being that the medium essentially discourages reading for understanding and making considered points in favor of a kind of cultish rallying (see Kos, Malkin, etc. for examples). Do you agree?

Did you ever see Phil Ochs in the sixties or early seventies?

Have you ever read a book by Erle Stanley Gardner, and if not, how much would someone have to pay you to read one (on-camera, of course)?

On your egg salad vlog, I thought you said that you had previously eaten sliced egg. (I can't confirm at work because all video is blocked.) Is that true?

Proposed topic? What do you think consitutes harrassment of female bloggers, per Goodman?

Also, could you do the vlog in the affected, Harvard voice of Garance Franks-and-Rutabaga.

In that photo, why didn't you use photoshop to replace that street light with one of these?

ZAAAAAP!

Ann Althouse said...

Hey, I didn't even notice the street light. Plus, I don't have Photoshop. Feel free to do it for me and send me the picture and I'll upload it.

When is your next appearance on BHTV?

Wurly makes me want to ask: Do you do impressions of people? Can we hear your version of Cass Elliot or Bette Davis or Agnes Moorehead?

As a liberal, would you ever consider sharing the wealth you receive from such things as eggvlogging with some of the "lesser" bloggers (those with fewer than 10 million hits) such as Peter Hoh, Bissage, Ruth Anne, Amba, Maxine, et al.?

Do you take photos with the camera in auto mode or do you tinker with the settings?

Simon said...

Do you share my and Eli Lake's skepticism about the desire of the Congressional Democratic Party to end the war? Are we too cynical for seeing their lack of interest as reflecting a calculation on their part - mistaken or otherwise - that it's a useful a political tool to boost their chances in 2008?

Ann Althouse said...

I'm using the auto mode, but I tinker in iPhoto a little.

If you were suddenly gifted with a superpower, which would be more useful, which would be annoying, and which would you likely use in the most abusive way . . .

limited range (say 15 foot radius) telepathy?

limited range telekinesis (also 15 foot radius)?

temporary, and self-controlled invisibility and inaudibility, along with any objects in your possession (say for surreptitious photography)?

Feel free to add any superpower you'd thought of, that I failed to mention.

(could this question be any geekier?)

Where is the garden in the picture?

Why does Maxine Weiss have such a hate-on for you?

And a follow-up:

Why don't you ever go to Maxine's blog and spam all over her comments? Turnabout is, reportedly, fair play.

(1)(a) Ann Althouse, I would, if I could, but I can’t, so I won’t. Complete lack of talent and all that.

(1)(b) Anybody else who feels the urge, please have at it! That goes for anything I post, in perpetuity.

(1)(c) Ha!

(2)(a) Meade, I do not deserve to be included in such industrious (and illustrious) company! I am not a blogger, although I am a lesser. Heck, I’m not even a real commenter. I’m just a quipper!

(2)(b) I’m a quipper. I’m a sipper. I’m a brother and I’m a nipper. I tend my garden in the suuuuuuuuun. . . . AAAH—WOOO WOOO!

(2)(c) See (1)(c), supra.

2nd question (following a slightly NSFW link required) . . .

How wrong is this?

Richie D said...

I've got a sinking feeling that we will not be having a vlog today.

Geeky question? Ha! How about the classic: Who would win in a fight between Wonder Woman and Batman?

Here's another one: Now that egg salad has touched your life personally, does it change your viewpoint on "The 40-Year-Old Virgin"?

Andy: "God, Friday, when I went home, I really wanted an egg-salad sandwich. And I was just obsessing about it and I was like: 'Man, I'm gonna make one of those.' So-so, Saturday I went out and got, like, a dozen eggs and I boiled them all and then I just I-I spent, I don't know, probably three hours... like three and a half hours making you know, the mayonnaise and the onions and paprika and, you know, all the accoutrement. And then by the time I was done I just really didn't feel like eating it."

Is it possible for you to be more self-involved?

"Is it possible for [ann] to be more self-involved?"

For $200, I'm sure she would be for a few minutes, on-vlog no less.

LOL.

And, btw, I've got the vlog recorded. Should be up in half and hour.
