Welcome home.

Better snow than crabby folks and the irrationally violent.

In Ohio on 12/6 the best way to travel was by dog , but as it was 66F yesterday , it's back to grassy again today.

Come on. Who drives and Audi TT in a place that gets as much snow as Wisconsin?

Took me over an hour to dig out the plow droppings at the end of my driveway this morning (it is pretty, though).

Glad the worst didn't happen to you on the way home!

Are you kidding? This car is brilliant on the snow and ice. I can't think of a better car.

Yeah but what's the carbon footprint on that thing?

Less than the average Canadian's snowblower, I'd guess.

You never have to dig out a subway.

You never have to dig out a subway.

Never say never.

Digging out plowed driveways and cars is excellent exercise.

I was out walking yesterday before the plows...just beautiful.

Silvio! Missed ya!

And I have to wonder: is seeing your car in such as state, and knowing you have to dig it out, is that the worst thing to happen to you today?

What did the agent know when you talked to her this morning!!?

Trooper, you do have to sometimes bail them out.

True PaddyO, but you have the compensation of wet t-shirts. Ya got to take the good with the bad.

My yard looked pretty much like yours - maybe 8" of new heavy, wet snow.

Doggone global warming!

Has Silvio adopted the veil?

Really, a friend of mine had one the first year they came out in Denver and it was like trying to steer a hockey puck on ice. Good to know they've improved. My wife has an A4 that's awesome in the snow.

The F train never skidded on the ice. Not once.

Course you can't cut the line for the turnstile and not get slapped.
But I'm sure it's the same if you jump the line for cow tipping.

What? No LOLCATS caption?

IM IN MADISON, VALIN YOR CARZ.

Or something; I can't really do the accent.

He probably didn't have the Quattro. You don't want a front-wheel-drive car around here. Mine's 4-wheel-drive and rock solid.

Ah, I see Silvio is up-armored with the snow!

Welcome back - dust off your shovel and...well, get to work.

Van Galder bus from O'Hare through Rockford, Beloit, and Janesville, or direct to Truax?

Any thoughts on scheduling a Madison Althouse gathering for this coming weekend?

Geez. It's 80 degrees here today. If I'm stuck on the mainland, I want my seasons dangit.

Are there enough Madison readers to do a thing here? Email me at my annalthouse gmail address if you'd come. And what would be the perfect Madison locale? Actually, I know!

What is that white stuff all over your car? Cocaine?

When its gray in L.A.,
I sure like it that way
Cuz there's way too much sunshine ‘round here
I don’t know about you, I get so sick of blue skies
Wherever they always appear

I'll trade you that snow for the ice storm we're supposed to get today. Deal?
