Althouse on Fox News at 1:45 ET/12:45 CT.

I'll be on for 5 minutes around that time, talking to Megyn Kelly about the video Meade and I made of the children doing protest chants in the rotunda.

Doh! [What an idiot I am- you'd think I would have figured that out].

I bet "that little video" has terrified more parents than you can imagine.

Again, the noises you recorded were inside the Rotunda. In Madison, Wisconsin.

It's gone VIRAL!

Post video please for those of us at work so we can see it later.

So that was a clip from your video on FBN last night?

So now we have James Taranto clearly regularly perusing your site, we've got Breitbart, and now Fox News.

I'd say you've been discovered, Ms. Althouse (or was it Outhouse?)

(Just kidding.)

And with your trusty and gritty reporter in the field, you are becoming a reporting and analysis force to be reckoned with.

For me it is and always have been about the intellectually honesty.

You've officially become a tool. Congrats!

On a side note, you are certainly exaggerating the ability of teachers to permanently alter the political opinions of their students. I once had a teacher who told our "health" class that if you had anal sex with someone their anus would close up and they would end up with a colostomy bag. I kid you not.

And you, a Fox News Contributor...

WV: Kbrors--subliminal messaging from Koch BROtheRS? combined with Fox news? Coincidence?

"On a side note, you are certainly exaggerating the ability of teachers to permanently alter the political opinions of their students."

Please read the post and watch the video again (all the way through). Then come back and tell me that you understand why your comment is mistaken.

Congratulations, you're in your element.

Can you give me an example of a librul tool?

Reagan said...

I did watch the video of course, and my comment is not mistaken at all. Your point is that the use of students by protesting teachers could come back to haunt the teachers at some point. My point is that you exaggerate the ability of teachers using students in this way to permanently alter the opinions of students regarding the subject matter of which they were protesting. Tangentially, it is unlikely that the use of students in this manner(improper or proper, authorized or not) will adversely affect a teacher in the future. It is basically a field trip with cheering. Kids also like the song "We Will Rock You" by Queen. I'm not even say I approve of it, absent some discussion before the trip with parents, kids, etc. about the right to peaceably assemble and protest what they/you perceive to be unjust laws.

OMG, I'm going out for the afternoon, nooooooo!! Please upload a video if you can.

I'm sorry, but the Professor should've been interviewed by all the cable news services since the get-go, due to her coverage, not just Fox News one month later in the Wisconsin budget crisis.

Poor Ann,

She's on her way to FOX News Channel Stardom and she doesn't know it, yet.

Once Palin announces her run, there'll be a huge hole to fill at FOX. Especially if both Palin and Huck go at about the same time.

Althouse is perfect for Ailes' new strategy of poaching MSNBC and CNN viewers. He just hired Evan Bayh and Ann has become a superstar on Bloggingheads. She's both engaging AND bipartisan, plus she has the centrist street cred of having been a 2008 Obama Voter.

She'd be perfect as a FOX News Contributor for the 2012 Cycle.

ESPECIALLY given the high probability that Palin will be prominent in the 2012 fight, FOX will need someone who has been fair, but mildly critical, of Palin, on something like Hannity's panel.

Trust me: Ann's being watched by the people in New York. She just doesn't know it yet. Let's just hope Ann doesn't make the mistake that Erick Erickson did and sign up with the boiler room crew of the Titanic by becoming a side show act on CNN.

So, Professor Althouse will you mention that Judge Albert called Walker's restrictions on speech and assembly unconstitutional?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-03-04/wisconsin-protesters-exit-capitol-for-first-time-in-over-2-weeks.html

"Judge John Albert issued an interim order declaring unconstitutional the Department of Administration’s policy of curtailing public access to the building that it began early this week."

I know you won't. Even though you teach Constitutional Law, you really don't have any evident dedication to the principles. At least not when it's at odds with your partisan leanings.

If you want the proceedings, rule (pp27+) and comments from the bench:

Can't wait.

Note all the little trolls are stamping their feet saying, "No, no no!!! It should be ME up there".

That won't get you on FOX. No way. No how.

When you finally did it, what did your anus really do?

Ann:
I just watched the segment with Megan Kelly. It seemed to be pretty straightforward and basically covered what you said here on the blog.

Anonymous said...

Ms. Kelly was NOT interested in your take on the situation. Sh seemed surprisingly OK with the idea of kids being used in a protest.

BJM said...

Troll chow spill on aisle 8!

I'm watching it live now...Althouse said exactly what she's been posting, that children shouldn't be used as political pawns and should be taught to think for themselves.

How will the WI Democrat establishment withstand such an outrageous attack?

/sarcasm

btw- you looked fabulous.

Unknown said...

Just saw you.

I wished Megyn Kelly had stayed a little more with the narrative of the video and your coverage of the protests.

In all, you made your case.

PS A little recall note to wtreck Alpha's day.

Unknown said...

Give me a break. Children have been used for years to get the attention of politicians. Please don't assume a child is ignorant of what is going on. Our job is to teach children BOTH sides of the story as early as 2nd grade. And guess what? Those kids who have "no clue" are the ones who just turn off all teaching. Those whose parents care usually are right in the middle of everything and do have the ability to form their own opinions at a very early age. Don't talk down to our future.

Original Mike said...

So, if "Fox lies" (as we are constantly told), and Althouse is on Fox, does that mean that "Althouse lies"?

rezdog said...

I'm guessing most of these teachers and their protesting friends have children. What's wrong with having your child with you at these protests. Very educational in my book. You admitted they weren't on a field trip so don't worry about what they do on their own time. As much as you appear to want to tell people how to raise their kids, sorry not your bizness.

granmary said...

I just watched it. I have been sharing all your good work to my FB page. I want all my friends to see real news reporting instead of the one-sided propaganda that the MSM feeds us. You & Meade make a great team. You two could teach the MSM how reporting should be done.

Need to see the video. I love Megyn Kelly. Saw here beat someone up on the air a week or so ago, and she was great. She didn't let him get away with parroting his talking points. Something about him wanting a debate, and then not letting her have her turn. She just rode it, while he looked sillier and sillier.

Very articulate and, yes, quite attractive. I think that woman is going places.

BTW - congrats. As others have noted, this means that you are making the big time, with Fox, Taranto, etc. following your work now.

Drew said...

"On a side note, you are certainly exaggerating the ability of teachers to permanently alter the political opinions of their students."

Well, hell . . . so are the teachers. Otherwise why would they involve their kids? Clearly they hope to influence them.

michaele said...

Hope someone uploads it to YouTube. I'd love to see it.
Doesn't seem to be there yet.

Are you talking about her sparring with Jesse Jackson? That was beautiful, and obviously made Jackson uncomfortable to the point that he cut off the interview rather quickly.

Give it 2-3 years before Althouse is a permanent Fox News contributor. Congrats professor - you've just hit the jackpot. KA-CHING!

I think Ann looked almost lifelike.

Good interview!

Althouse is the reasonable one.

Talking heads go for a stylized women's idea of a hot looking babe with an attention disorder.

Merny11 said...

glam1931 what are you talking about? Megan Kelly was cleary disturbed by what she was seeing in the Capitol. And Ann, you were great! Your voice is higher pitched than i imagined .... you are one beautiful, gutsy 60 year old. Glad i found this place!

Unknown said...

Congrats, well done!

The problem I have with Megyn's show and most of the other news shows, is they spent an enormous portion of their time teasing upcoming segments - time which might be better spent on the actual interviews. You might have had 6 minutes instead of 4 and had Megyn spoken less and listened more she might have provided viewers a whole lot more information. It could have been worse. They might have had an opposing talking head to over-talk you.

Lukedog said...

The fact that this boring video was even a blip on the radar demonstrates just how little there is to talk about in regards to the Madison protests.

Mostly reasonable people objecting to what they view as an steaming pile of crap of a budget bill.

I can't believe this was worth a second look by any news outlet.

Yes, I watched the video...twice.
