Amusing to see celebrities celebrate gay marriage when marriage in general is nothing they particularly cherish and certainly something they rarely portray in a positive light in their films or music.

This is all rather dull. The election results yesterday sucked for the Dems. Not only did walker do quite well against Democratic totals, gay marriage took a hit in NC, and in the biggest surprise of all Obama gave up 41% of the vote in WV to a federal convict no one had ever heard of.

So it's time to change the story! And if the gay donation stuff is true, this was the perfect time to do it.

Changing the topic to gay marriage is good. He'll get lots of good press, lots more Hollywood money, and part of the reason gay marriage did so badly in NC HAS to be that blacks voted against it. He's banking on blacks turning out big for him November no matter what.

Anything HAS to be better than having a close run against a federal convict in West Virginia. They just simply CANNOT let that be the story everyone talks about the rest of the week.

...

Romney's campaign should just restate their opinion on the matter, and then ignore it the rest of the week. It's the economy, stupid! Get back on that track, THAT'S where they can win,

I really believe that most gays don't give a damn about marriage. Wasn't Andrew Sullivan a big marriage advocate years ago? A lot of gays, as I recall, didn't back him because they didn't think marriage was a big deal. They changed when they began to realize how they could spite Christian groups in general and the hated Catholic church in particular. Since most gays are liberal, they just couldn't pass up the chance to nail Christians. Just watch. If gay marriage becomes legal across the country, I doubt you will see a huge surge in gay couples getting married. Deep down, they really don't care about this.

So now he should reach that billion dollars.

Maybe this is Obama's way of ensuring a strong ground of support for speaking fees if he loses the election?

Brave? Fierce? Justice?
Do people know the definitions of these words?
The brave, fierce, just thing to do would be to stand up for marriage and the family. Don't hold your breath while you wait for the far left to recognize bravery.

Well, after years of pressure by major Democratic donors, Barack Obama is finally as progressive on marriage as Dick Cheney.

So, what concessions are Obama willing to make in negotiations with Congress in order to piece together a bill that repeals DOMA? Or is his support completely nominal lip-service?

In states where SSM is legal it's almost entirely a lesbian thing.

Why is this such a big deal? He can't issue an edict, can he, especially when he says it's a states' rights issue (funny, for a statist like him to punt on this one). And everyone knows he was for it.

The West Hollywood mayor says he's preparing for a celebration...and for "violence." *sigh*

I wonder what all this means.

On the right there's a savor in awaiting the next gaffe from Joe Biden, who is generally thought to be an idiot savant whose savant decamped. But, you notice how he's repeatedly and publicly announced he's on the ticket again; and with a blurt levered the president into 'supporting' gay marriage. For all we have been told about the massive intelligence of the president, he has twice been finessed by a clotpoll. It's so reassuring to come up against someone certain he's the smartest person in the room. They don't know what hit them; the really really brilliant ones don't even know they've been hit at all.

It's not reassuring to see malevolent world leaders take the measure of the man, and advance pawns out into tempting positions.

I'm shocked...just shocked, by this announcement. In other news water is wet, and Generallisimo Francisco Franco is still dead.

Only Zero would think it worthy of a news flash? stroking? whatever you call what the MSM does for him...oh...got it...the blowjob, to declare what everyone already knew.

I'm glad the gay people I know hate Zero for what he does, and don't lap up the lies he spreads.

Carnifex said...

I'll tell you a funny one. I was actually defending Zero against my gay friends a few years ago(truth). Maybe they are more perceptive than str8s.

The slightest bit of news regarding SSM chases every other issue off the front page of the Seattle Times. As time goes on, I feel like reversing my position from pro to con simply out of annoyance. And it becomes easier and easier to suspect that the mainstream media in this town will do anything to distract the public from the most pressing issues facing our city and state.

What's even more hilarious than reading the news stories is reading people's facebook posts about it. So many people validated and "so proud" of him, "so happy the day has finally come" ....that he said what every TV show and newspaper has been talking about all along. It's like he's their kid riding a bike for the first time.

Urkel just alienated a lot of his black supporters. Whether they are going to come to the trough to drink this kool-aid will remain to be seen. If Prop 8 in California was/is any indication of a demographic that voted overwhelmingly against homosexual marriage, blacks will give their little pet Zebra a good dress down and keep it on the down low.

The little homophiles can be all a twitter about this choreographed and scripted change of heart. A change of heart that coincides with re-election, but in reality the electorate has already shown where they stand and it isn't pretty.

According to The Daily Mail, after his non-announcement-announcement (of which so many are so proud) Obama's raised a million dollars in 90 minutes! Boy oh boy, for an "oppressed" group, gays seem to be doing A-O.K in my book. Leading to an obvious question:

Is there more?

And, if so, can somebody else have some? Or is the "hope" for "change" all we're stuck with?

I can picture gays, cracking UP at that famous video of that black woman, declaring Obama was going to pay for her gas and mortgage, when they could've solved all her problems - overnight - and even put her in a mansion. The even bigger joke is, now that Obama has whored himself for all that gay money, he, too, ain't doing shit for her.

Pay your "fair share" my ass,...

Isn't this what those who support gay marriage do?

It's a bit much watching Obama's supporters wet themselves with joy and "pride in the President" for his having said something which has no force of law, but which he should have said long ago as a matter of principle, especially given that it clearly was dragged out of him--a belated and cowardly admission of what he has always been assumed to believe or a carefully tailored media event, (or both), and is merely pandering to his supporters in an election year, and which may or may not reflect his actual feelings on the matter.

No wonder we're fucked...there's no one in either party who has a chance of being elected to high office who is worth a good god damn.

"RC has an epiphany Welcome to the Tea Party."

Hahahaha-hardly!

Did you assume I am or have been an Obama supporter, or that I voted for him?

I am not and I did not.

When he voted for the revised FISA law--before his election to the presidency--which gives the government more latitude to evesdrop on electronic communications before obtaining warrants and which extended retroactive immunity from civil suits to the telecom companies who partipated criminally in Bush's warrantless evesdropping on Americans--in betrayal of his promise not only to NOT vote for the law but to support a filibuster against it--he revealed himself for what he is: a liar, a hypocrite, an opportunist who will pander to his constituents and exploit their hopes and needs to aggrandize his own power.

In other words, an all-too-typical American politician. A shit.

I waited in line at the polling place for an hour that chilly New York City November morning in 2008 just for the pleasure of voting for Ralph Nader, and against Barry's lies of "hope" and "change."

In office, he has proved himself even worse than I expected he would be.

He's just as his predecessors in the White House have been: a flunky for the elites, a factotum to the powerful, a betrayer of his oath of office and of the American people.

The terrible thing is, anyone who can be elected will be the same, and as bad.

Carnifex said...

Well I did assume. Thank you for being smarter than that. :-)

I fear I feel like you do. There isn't a gnat's worth of difference between the 2 parties, and the pols running are at best panderer's seeking self-aggrandizement.

But don't sell the Tea party short, at least they're being more effective than OWS, or the Libertarians.

Telecoms sell out to the gov. to keep operating obviously. And the one thing a gov. fears is a free and independent thinker.

I'll pay closer attention to your posts from now on.
