The blues for the greens.

Looks like the special at a high-end vegetarian restaurant. Black bean hummus with curly endive. Or maybe it's humus?

Ruined! If only the Republicans hadn't rejected that farm bill.

And last year there was no rain in Madison. I spent the summer in Lake Geneva and there wasn't any rain there either it being just down the road a piece. Already lost two tomato plants here in North Florida to the rain. But we're sub-tropical and it goes with the territory...

Was that rain, or did Rob Roy come over and mark his territory? Damn big dog.

The sequester continues its destructive path.

Sorry about that.

Were the rains that heavy?

They've been promising here for almost a week, but we get nothing.

Drill a few holes in the bottom of that pot.

Looks unappetizingly like some sprouts-and-someother something I was offered once at a health food "bar".

I declined.

Where's the lettuce...photo appears to show herbs with sludge.

Hot Spots

Series of drenching rains in Philadelphia. Flowers look nice.

I get the house-brand bagged romaine.

I grow only food for birds.

The Washington Hawthorne has been a failure because the birds eat it all in the autumn and there's never anything left for the winter.

The Smooth Sumac has done best, not only providing the house with effective and light-weight summer shade but providing berries that the birds hate so they're always left in late winter for birds with much lower standards.

It's banned in some states as a weed.

Wilted lettuce salad. Add bacon.

The Washington Post would put This Behind its PayWall.

I thought it was a Pho soup or something.

I used to grow mung bean sprouts, which never involved more than a bowl and wet paper towels.

Nothing about weather mattered.

The bunnies are harvesting all of our crops, this year.
