Joe Biden begins his (non)campaign for the presidency with a manifest lie.

"There's no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run."

Let me Google a picture of obvious for Joe. Here:

Anyway, the quote above is from a CNN "breaking news" email, previewing something airing on a CNN show called "New Day," which is on at 6 a.m. ET. 5 a.m., my time. I'm actually up and able to watch that, but I'm not fool enough to watch news TV at this hour. Who is? It's a good place to slot Biden, lying. Obviously.

Joe continues: "For me, the decision to run or not run is going to be determined by me, as to whether I am the best qualified person to focus on the few things I've spent my whole life on."

For me, the decision what to say about this palpable nonsense is going to be determined by me, because for me what I write is determined by me. Did I mention me? I and only I will decide the things that must be decided, as I am the best person to decide. Sure, Joe. You will decide. You will decide that others have decided that you will not be the one to make all the decisions as the next decider.

Now, go. Focus on a few things, as you continue to expend the remaining years of your whole life.

Joe's never going to master the clap-clap-wink-wink-nod-nod that Hillary can really rock.

All kidding aside...Biden has profound self-awareness issues. He doesn't seem to realize that he's not a real Vice-President, but an insurance policy against impeachment.

Maybe he knows something about Benghazi...

SloJo couldn't find Benghazi on a map of Benghazi.

Joe Biden is the only democrat less qualified than Hillary to be president. And that includes Dirty Harry Reed.

In the Dim party, when the VP entitlement meets the Female entitlement, Joe, you are going down hard. Those fish on bicycles, gonna run you over

Now, there is a choice ... dumb or nasty...hmmm.

Biden has seen DC from up close and ugliest. He knows that palpable lying is all that there is.

Some know how to tell them and some don't.

What, precisely, makes Hillary Clinton more qualified for the office than Biden?

Cattle futures? Rose Law Firm? Getting kicked off the Watergate investigation for unethical behavior? Playing the martyred wife? Lying about Benghazi? HillaryCare?

The list goes on and on...

Just because she's the heir apparent doesn't mean that she's inherently more qualified for the job than Slo Jo.

If she wins the nomination, it won't be because of her qualifications. It will be celebrity worship of the Clintons. If she were ever to be judged solely on her own qualifications - rather than as part of the celebrity duo - she wouldn't even make it out of Iowa.

The 3 AM phone already rang, and she let it go to voice mail...

So, the best hope for the Dems are two extremely old candidates with no actual accomplishments in their many, many years of feeding at the public trough.

SloJo doesn't even know how to listen to his voicemail.

"SloJo doesn't even know how to listen to his voicemail."

As opposed to Hillary, who would listen to the voice mail but then later claim that she hadn't. When proof later appeared that she had, she would then claim that she couldn't remember it, and even if she had, "What difference does it make now?"

I don't know why I phrased my last comment as a hypothetical since that's exactly what happened with Benghazi.

I'm for Biden. The next Pres is gonna be some total loser in any event. Why not go with the comedian? Entertainment. Could he be worse than Zero? Maybe.

A manifest lie?

He's just warming up.

Joe's just an insurance policy for Obama. No one would target Obama for assassination or impeachment with Joe in the on-deck circle.

Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton...is there no better illustration that our political system is broken than that we keep expecting--and getting!--the same corrupt, cynical hacks and servants of the military and of Wall Street to be our candidates for President...and that we think it is appropriate that such wretched people should be considered for high office?

Biden unchained? OMG, that would be fun!

Awkward jokes!

Awkward photos with the old man feeling-up the reporters!

Please, Oh Please! Run Joe, Run!

My first thought . . . you have got to be kidding!

But, he should have saved the announcement for a couple of months. It would have made a perfect April Fools Joke.

In the picture of obvious Althouse provided Hilary looks like a clown. She also looks bad in many of the pictures at the site linked. Of course if Althouse had provided a comparison picture of Biden then her point would have been much more obvious.

Those are her qualifications.

I think it's wonderful this country would be open to having the first mentally challenged president in Joe Biden. This country is all about "Firsts!"

In Hillary!'s defense, she really was fully at the trough only 12 years, with another 8 in the WH as a 1st Spouse, and maybe a decade or so in the governor's mansion. Up until 21 years ago, she had a real job - though it did involve exploiting her connections as the first wife of Arkansas as a lobbyist, etc.

Still, I think that either of them are going to face the problem that they are on the wrong side of history, and demographics. Both are at the very bleeding edge of the post-war Baby Boomers, will be nearing 70, and will have to attract a lot of the youth vote that Obama, most of a generation younger, was able to attract. Hillary! apparently hasn't driven for better than 20 years now - why should she when she had government chauffeurs until she and her husband got filthy rich (from that govt service) and could afford their own. I don't see either getting nearly as much of the youth vote, and are likely to lose much of the geezer vote due to what they did to Medicare to pass ObamaCare. All the Republicans really need to do to be competitive is to run a vigorous, articulate, not unattractive, candidate 20 years their junior.

If anyone wants to face Hilary, this man would be a strong Democrat candidate.

But not one chosen by the ancient establishment, who thought that Dan Quayle satisfied those criteria.

Yes, Quayle was better than the conventional wisdom, but we're talking about the appeal argument. The only folks who thought of him as young and vigorous were ancient.

The Lawrence Welk show provides another an example. It had lots of young performers, folks who appeal as young to old folks. However, those same young performers appeal as old to actual young people.

Note that the establishment Repubs are also spectacularly bad at judging "cool". They should go for an explicitly "not cool" candidate because that works much better than faux cool.

"There's no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run."

I heard presidential lies that "you can keep your doctors..." I recognized politicians lies, that the filmmaker caused Benghazi riots. But Biden uttered no lies. He was absolutely nuanced to say what he said. He didn't say "there's no reason that ...," but "there's no obvious reason". He didn't say "there's no obvious reason that I should not run" but "there's no obvious reason for me why I think..." I bet nobody knows why he thinks if he thinks.

Some obvious interpretations of Biden Speak:

He may think of some reasons, but they are not obvious.

He is obviously incapable of thinking of reasons that are obvious to everybody else.

He is obviously incapable of reasoning or thinking.

Can you imagine Cal Coolidge saying "There's no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run"?
